Food at Balbirnie
A feature of visiting Balbirnie is undoubtedly trying our wonderful food and wine, and enjoying our super hospitality.
Balbirnie’s kitchens have an emphasis on creating classic dishes which use seasonal produce, using at every opportunity the wonderful natural larder that Scotland provides. Our aim is to provide a choice of dining experiences which will suit whatever the occasion of your visit – whether a full dining experience or simply a one course evening meal after a busy day. Whatever works for you.
"One of the most sociable and comfortable country house hotels in the land" Peter Irvine
We have a choice of three dining options for guests (as well as several private dining rooms):
The Orangery offers classic Scotland on a plate, and has become one of Fife’s most special destination restaurants. Classic contemporary with service very much relaxed and informal. All dishes priced individually allowing you to choose as you wish..
Voted one of Scotland's five most romantic restaurants by The Scotsman newspaper and past recipient Scotland's Hotel Restaurant of the Year.
Created from the old kitchens of the house, The Bistro offers casual dining, fantastic value, delicious and authentic Bistro cooking.
Bistro "Pop Up Deluxe" Private Room
Our super new addition, a private room just across from The Bistro, eating up to 24 for private Bistro dining.
The Orangery Chef's Table
The Chef's Room is a totally unique private room for up to 6 guests, located directly alongside our main hot kitchen plating area with full length mirror to watch our Chefs at work (one way glass, they can’t see you!). The Tasting Room can be booked just like a normal restaurant table but certainly offers something a bit different for a night out to remember! If interested in reserving then please email email@example.com
